    Windows xp hanging too much after Installing a software, does it mean that the software was a virus?

    I am using windows xp from last 5 years but never encountered any big issue but two days ago my son downloaded a software from internet and installed it in our system. The software was actually a racing game which worked fine initially without slowing down the system. When i started the system second time, I felt that the system was slightly slower than before but nothing was creating any problem. After 2 days when I opened it again, it hangs too much due to which I am unable to use my system. When I discussed this issue with my friend he told me that this is a sign of virus. Is it true? If yes then kindly suggest me a way to get out of this problem.

    Virus is termed used mostly in biology. Actually it is a microorganism which has the capability to replicate itself. The term “Computer Virus” has also been derived from the same creature and it also has the property to replicate itself but not without the help of any human activity. Actually it comes in the form of an executable file so it won’t be able to create any problem for you until and unless, you execute that file. It replicates itself after every execution which can slow down your computer and if the execution process continues then at certain point of time, your computer will be jammed. I am not sure what happened with your system as this type of problem occurs sometimes when the system’s default thread handler fails to handle the thread. In that case you will have to uninstall the Application which is creating problem. So boot into your computer in Safe Mode and Uninstall the Application which is creating problem for you. Restart your computer and check whether it is working fine or not. If it works fine then it is sure that the problem was not created by virus but if the problem still continues to persists then it means the game which has been installed by your son contains virus.In that case you will have to Format your PC and Re-Install the Operating system.

    We cannot say that the problem is with computer virus completely. Some softwares behave normally at starting but while using day by day it degrades the systems performance. for example take a software named "Deep freezeer". it works fine at starting but on long use it degrades the system performance. So its better to uninstall the software that your son installed. even the problem still persists then its definitely the computer virus problem. then re install the os again and install a best antivirus . Scan the whole system before opening any file.

    HI,

    Follow the explanation below -

    XP can handle 1TB drives in NTFS without a problem - it's the motherboard on older computers that may have problems, as it may not support LBA.
    There's not really any need to partition the drive, but I would tend to opt for about 60GB for the OS, and 100 GB for data, and then move the My Documents folder (using the option in its Properties) to the data partition. This helps to segregate programs and data, and means a lot less work if a reinstall is required.

    If still the problem, persist run an antivirus program.Thats it your problem will be solved..

    Hello,

    Your system is attacked by virus no doubt about that.

    To fix this problem

    ==> Click Start
    ==> Go to Control panel
    ==> Select Add or remove programs
    ==> Select that game
    ==> Click Uninstall

    And you need to use an efficient antivirus program to protect your computer.
    You can download and install for free HERE.

    All the best

    Hello friend...

    your install the racing game which is too high capacity so your window not supportable so your computer doing slow..

    you uninstall the racing game, if your computer speed increase so it means your racing game create any problem and after you can not install it..

    it not a virus effective if you feel that virus effective you scan the whole computer and any virus found, removed it...

    you also change the your antivirus. you install any internet security antivirus like a Norton, Avast , AVG...etc. you also install the virus remover tools it is working now...

    Try to this...
