Windows XP redirects to different website while clicking on site link

Whenever I click on a website link through my PC running on Windows XP, I keep getting another site. I use Internet Explorer as my default browser. What could be the reason for this issue?

    • Disable Redirecting in "Internet Explorer"

      • 7Click "Tools."

      • 8Click "Internet Options."

      • 9Click the "Security" tab.

      • 10Click "Custom Level."

      • 11Scroll down to Miscellaneous and click "Disable" under "Allow META-REFRESH."

      • 12Click "OK." and "OK." once more.

      Disable Redirecting in Google Chrome

      • 13Click on the "Customize and control Google chrome" button. This is pictured as a wrench.

      • 14Click "Options."

      • 15Click "Under the Hood."

      • 16Click the box next to "Enable phishing and malware protection."

      • 17Close the "Options" tab.
