Windows XP shows error code 0x800CCC0B while sending e-mails from Outlook Express

It is possible to receive e-mails through Outlook Express on my PC running on Windows XP. But whenever I try to send an e-mail, I keep getting the error message saying “Unknown error has occurred along with an error code 0x800CCC0B”. How can I get rid of this error?

    Hello....

Reply : Windows XP shows error code 0x800CCC0B while sending e-mails from Outlook Express

This issue occurs due to incorrect settings for the Outgoing mail server.
Your email service provider will not let you send the messages without server authentication.
Windows XP support advises that you configure the SMTP server settings to authenticate your outgoing messages.

Follow this steps to solve this.....

=> First of all, start Outlook Express, and then click on Tools.

=> Click on Accounts from the drop down list.

=> Then, select the particular account with which you have issue in sending the emails. Then, click on Properties.

=> The Properties window will appear with different tabs.

=> Windows XP support suggests that you click on the Servers tab to make changes in your Outgoing or incoming server
    settings.

=> After selecting the Servers tab, locate the option Outgoing mail server.

=> Windows XP support recommends that you put a check mark next to the option My server requires authentication.

=> Click OK to finish the process.

=> Now, try sending an email from your email account using the Send/Receive button. Windows XP support says that the
changes will become effective only after you restart Outlook Express.

After enabling the server authentication, you should be able to send your emails successfully.

    I hope this helps....
