It seems that you have already installed the application and it is damaged or corrupted, thats why it is showing this error.
    TO resolve this
Remove the program first from control panel using program and features.
Then Empty the temp folder as it contains the data

    1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Disk Cleanup.
    2. Click C: or click the drive where Windows XP is installed, and then click OK.
    3. Click to select the Temporary files check box.
    4. Click OK, and then click Yes to confirm the deletion

    and the restart the computer.

download combofix from the link below. You must rename it before saving it.save it to your desktop.I suggest that you rename it to combo-fix.exe. The tool will suggest that name as default any way.
    >>downloadhttp://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
    <<

1 Close/disable all anti virus and anti malware programs so they do not interface with the running of combo fix.
*very important temporarily disable your anti-virus script blocking and anti-malware real-time protection before performing a scan.they can interface with combo-fix or remove some of its embedded files which may cause unpredictable result.
*click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. The list is not all inclusive.if yours is not listed and you don't know how to disable it.
*remember to re enable the protection again afterwards.
2 double click on combo fix.exe & follow the prompts.
*When finished, it will produce a report for you.please post the c:\combofix.txt along with a hijack this log so we can continue cleaning the system.
*Do not mouse click combofix window while it's running.

    DEAR FRIEND,

it may be the problem of ..File is corrupt bad or missing

File is not designed for your version of Windows

File is a virus or other malware file

    Hardware incompatibility

But most of the time.....the error ..appeared when the file corrupted

And for the solution.....follow the below lines

first press windows key+r and type appwiz.cpl and press enter key

now choose the program from the list and right click on it and choose uninstall option

after that again press windows key+r and type regedit and press enter key ....and click YES

    now expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >>software

then delete the k-lite related folder

after that restart the PC .......and install again.......

    ALL THE BEST

Re: Error "not a valid Win32 application" while installing K-lite media player in windows XP

K-lite is possibly the most used , CODEC pack of all codec packs and not media player as you know. Most probably you have downloaded K-Lite CODEC pack , the version is the latest one but your Windows XP is an old Operating System which has old Windows Media Player installed, and the operating system as well as media player fails to identify and access the latest version of the CODEC Pack .Uninstall or Delete the CODEC Pack, K-Lite from your system.Download , your system installed Windows Media Player version compatible old K-Lite CODEC Pack, install withsuccess.

Re: Error "not a valid Win32 application" while installing K-lite media player in windows XP

    Hi, Dear friend

It might be the error about the Architecture ... i Mean ... Generally this error appears when you tried the 64 Bit application .... with the 32 bit

or.....some times... it may happens even when the respective application corrupted also

So, first of all check whether the contents of the KMP downloaded properly or not

and it might be the compatible ... issues ... too.... so, try to download the lower version of player or ..... trouble shoot the current player with the ... compatible troubleshooter ... and again try to install it

and i hope possibly it will be solved ....with these steps

    Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Dear friend,

This is very clear that the excutable file (.exe) of the k-lite is corrupted.

This is probably bue to the downloading failures or sudden restart during copying the files.

    FOLLOW THSES STEPS.

    1. Goto the google.com

    2. Search and download the k-lite mega pack.

    3. This way you have the latest version of the pack.

    4. Install the downloaded software and then restart the system.

    5. Now your k-lite mega pack has been installed.

Re: Error "not a valid Win32 application" while installing K-lite media player in windows XP

this might be because the k lite file is corrupt

or may be some files of it are missing

so first of all uninstall the k lite from your system

then scan your device completely and destroy all the virus and corrupt files

then connect to the fast internet connection

then download a latest version of the k lite mega pack

    install it properly

    and its done
