Re: How to back up files on Windows 7?

First of all, you should click on the ‘Start’ button and perform the following steps to open ‘Back and Restore’ option.
    • Click on ‘Control Panel’
    • Choose the option ‘System and Maintenance’
    • Select ‘Back up and Restore’
If you are using the Windows back up for the first time, then click ‘Set back up’ option. After that, you should follow every step as guided by the wizard. If you have created back up before, then you should wait until regulatory scheduled back up will occur on the screen instead of going for ‘Set back up’ option. You can also create new back up manually by clicking ‘Back up now’ option in that case. You should type the password or give confirmation at the end of the back up process. You need to give this information only if you will be prompted for administrator password or confirmation.

    Firstly, click on Start button.
Then, in Search Bar, type "Backup and Restore".

Re: How to back up files on Windows 7?

yes you can get the files and folders from image backup facility in windows7........just follow my steps.

1.go to computer management by right clicking on my computer.

2.right click on disk management and select attach VHD.

3.browse the VHD file inside the windows 7 system image backup location. i suggest you to select Read Only’ option to keep backup data safe. If any files deleted or over written then the particular system image backup may not be useful later.

4.That’s it. Now we successfully mounted VHD file from backup. The mounted VHD partition will be working as any other partitions in windows 7 without write permission. Explore the partition, copy and restore required files or folder to physical partition. This is a very easy method to restore files and folders from Windows 7 System image backup without full restore.

5.once restoredc required data immediatly detach VHD file from disk management.right click on attached disk and select detach VHD.

6.You can use the same VHD files with another Windows 7 machines also. VHD is Microsoft’s Virtual Hard Disk format supported by most of the virtualization software. There for this VHD file can be accessible by other virtualization software like VMware, VirtualBox and Microsoft Virtual PC. Mounting VHD files without additional software is one of the new features in Windows 7.

THATS IT YOU CAN NOW GET BACKUP FILES.

Re: How to back up files on Windows 7?

    """DEAR"""
    To back up your files

Open Backup and Restore by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore.

    Do one of the following:

If you've never used Windows Backup before, click Set up backup, and then follow the steps in the wizard. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

If you've created a backup before, you can wait for your regularly scheduled backup to occur, or you can manually create a new backup by clicking Back up now. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

To create a new, full backup

After you create your first backup, Windows Backup will add new or changed information to your subsequent backups. If you're saving your backups on a hard drive or network location, Windows Backup will create a new, full backup for you automatically when needed. If you're saving your backups on CDs or DVDs and can't find an existing backup disc, or if you want to create a new backup of all of the files on your computer, you can create a full backup. Here's how to create a full backup:

Open Backup and Restore by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore.

In the left pane, click Create new, full backup.
To set up a backup after upgrading from a previous version of Windows

After you upgrade Windows, you will need to set up Windows Backup, even if you had a scheduled backup in the previous version of Windows. This is because there are several changes to the backup program. Instead of selecting file types to back up, you can have Windows back up data files saved in libraries, on the desktop, and in default Windows folders, or you can choose specific libraries and folders to be backed up. You can also create a system image of your computer. For more information, see How does Windows choose which files to back up?

To set up your backup, follow these steps:

Open Backup and Restore by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore.

Click Set up backup, and then follow the steps in the wizard. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
