How to play Ogg and FLAC files in Windows Media Player in windows system?

I have recently got some Ogg and FLAC music files. However, the Windows Media player in my system is not supporting these files. Is there any way to play these compressed audio formats?

You can play these files after converting this into some other formats which is supported by WMP. You can use audio converting software packages for converting FLAC or Ogg files to mp3, WMP, or anything else. Otherwise, download and install codecs from http://www.xiph.org/quicktime/download.html. This codecs will convert the files. It will enable both the FLAC and Ogg files to play. Please note that converting already compressed files may have less quality.

Hi dear friend.................to To overcome the above issue......follow the below guide lines

To play the Ogg and FLAC files with WM player .... first of all download the madFLAC v1.8 decoder Just unzip the file and run install.bat…

after that you will get a successful message like the below

To verify everything is working, open up one of your FLAC files with WMP and you will get the following message Check the box Don’t ask me again for this extension and click YES

after the completion of above process...........restart the PC once.......and play again....... and this time...... the files will be played by the WM player

by default windows media player will not play these formats, but still you can make it playing by adding few codecs to the windows media player.
in open market there are lots of codecs available in the market. you can download them here
    http://www.xiph.org/dshow/

once you complete the download, install it Restart your system.

Now try to play those music files now. you can find the difference.

    happy to assist you
