Printing documents using USB printer from DOS prompt on Windows Vista

I have already connected an USB printer with my PC upgraded to Windows Vista and there is no issue with the connection. I need to print the documents in DOS instead of going into explorer. What should I do for that?

The first step required is to create a share for your printer. Then, click the ‘Start’ button and type cmd into the ‘Start Search’ field. Once you can view the command prompt window, type the command NET USE LPT1 \\mycomputer\myprintershare into it. Replace mycomputer with the network name of the PC and myprintershare with printer share name. You can open up the command prompt in compatibility mode if there are any issues. Right click on command prompt from ‘Accessories’ under ‘All Programs’ in start menu and choose ‘Copy’ option. Get into new location and select ‘Paste’ after right clicking over there. Then, right click that cmd.exe file and choose ‘Properties’ from the available menu. Press the ‘Compatibility’ tab afterwards and hit ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for:’ option. Choose ‘Windows XP’ afterwards and click the ‘OK’ button. After that, right click on cmd.exe file and select ‘Run as Administrator’ option. You can then type the command for printer share.
