What has to be done for disabling Windows Search Indexer on Windows 7?

I donít want to use indexing on my PC running on Windows 7. Therefore; I am planning to disable Windows Search Indexer permanently on the system. What are the steps for that?

Get into the desktop and move to the bottom left side to press the ‘Start’ button. Navigate into the bottom part of the start menu and type services into the search box. You can then view ‘Services’ program among the search results. Click on that program and wait until the services get listed on the window pop up on the screen. Scroll down to the bottom part of the list and locate the ‘Windows Search’. Right click on that service and select ‘Properties’ from the pop-up menu. Click the dropdown button next to ‘Startup type’ label and choose ‘Disabled’ option. You can also halt the service by selecting ‘Stop’ option from right click menu.

    Hi friend,

Here are the steps that you need to follow in order to Turn Off Windows Search Indexing:-

    1. Open My Computer.

    2. Right click on your C: Drive and choose Properties.

    3. Uncheck the box at the bottom that reads "Allow Indexing Service to Index This Disk For Fast File Searching".

    4. Click OK, and Files will be removed from memory. This removal may take a few minutes to complete.

In order to Disable Indexing Service:-

    1. In the Start menu, Choose RUN.

    2. Type "services.msc" and press Enter.

    3. Scroll down to "Indexing Service" and double click it.

    4. If the service status is "Running", then stop it by pressing the Stop Button.

    5. To make sure this service doesn't run again, under Startup Type, choose Disabled.

Hope i have helped you in getting relevant information.

    Al the best

    Thanking you..
