Why my Local drives in my Windows OS are opening in Internet Explorer if I double click and open it?

I remember installing nothing new in my Windows PC but just few days back I am facing this problem where whatever local drive I try to open by double-clicking it eg. C:, D: etc. it opens with Internet explorer and not in the Windows explorer. Can you tell me why this is happening? How to fix this problem?

If you are experiencing this problem, then the best solution to recover from this problem is to do "System Restore".

You can easily find System Restore in your Windows OS from Control Panel.

Or just type "System Restore" in the Search Bar after pressing Windows button.

Now, open "System Restore" and restore your Windows to a previous restore point.

Date is written in each restore point. The date which you think, that on this day problem was not there.

You may select that Restore Point and restore your Windows.
