    Hi there,
A severe error has occured while you were trying to install the win8 RP in you system.
I`m trying to analyse and sort the trouble out for you.
    Do the following :
Perform a check disk from Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).
    1. Press the ‘Windows + Q’ key on the keyboard.
    2. Type advanced startup options in the search box and then presenter.
    3. Scroll down to advanced startup, click restart now.
    4. Click on troubleshoot and select advanced options. Click on command prompt.
    5. Run from the command prompt the folloeing and press enter.
    chkdsk /f /r (drive)
    6. Press Y when you are prompted to check the disk the next time that the system restarts.
    7. Restart the computer.
When you run the check disk, take a backup before running.

You may also have the intention to install the drivers using Windows update:
Update a driver for hardware that isn't working properly

    Hello !!

it seems that your windows8 release preview is not properly installed as it is giving input/output error which is related to hardware.
and the hardware issue is caused only in 2 condition:-

    1. either your hardware is not compatible with your operting system.
    2. or,your operating system is not compatible with your hardware.

so,do ensure both the conditionand you will get the right problem and solution too.

also, docheck the architecture of your systemand then your os ie 64bit or 32bit.
